Hi everyone,
I am about to leave Beijing so my beloved room in my beloved apartment will be free, for the luck of the one of you who is going to take it!
The apartment is just north of Liudaokou, which means the bars and clubs of Wudaokou are very close, the Golden Towers (which is the place to go for whatever you may need, from clothes to stationaries) are just there. The universities are pretty close as well – I was going to Tsinghua and it took me 15 minutes by bike, BLCU for example is a lot closer. 24 hours noodles restaurant just at the beginning of the street, convenience store right next to it, as well as a café to study… so the location is just perfect.
The compound is a bit old, but don’t let the outside appearance scare you off, cause the apartment inside is just fine. Fully furnished, in the kitchen there’s everything you may need, and it has washing machine, TV, air conditioner, stuff to clean (my new vacuum-cleaner included, lucky you)! Hence you won’t need to buy anything extra.
The room is big enough (for its price even more), the big window faces south, and there is enough space to put your stuff. The double bed has – believe me or not – a pretty soft mattress for those of us who miss the Western standards.
Now to the actual highlight of the apartment: your future roommates. Steven and Ava are both English teachers, Xiaoshan (girl) is a director. They are definitely three of the nicest people I know. They have helped me soooo much getting used to life in Beijing, for any question, problems or suggestions I would ask them and they would always be willing to help me. I probably would have starved without them either cooking for me or helping me getting food when I was too lazy even to go down the street to eat. A big part of my improvement in my Chinese comes from talking or listening to them, and over the last five months I had a lot of fun with them and really felt at home. In a word, living here will make you experience the best part of the Chinese population =)
The rent is only 2000 RMB, which is pretty much the lowest price you will find in the area.
