My English name is Jason and I am 27 years old. I am an experienced full time Chinese teacher. I have taught Americans, French, British and some Koreans in Beijing. (I can provide references from my past students). I would like to highlight the fact that one of my students, Kevin, who only studied with me for five months, passed NEW HSK5 Examination in March 2013 and was accepted by Communication University of China. He has since been studying there since September 2013 under my University Application Instructions.
My teaching style is quite different than most--I really emphasizes PRECISE tones and do not allow the student to speak incorrectly. Some teachers become accustomed to the way a foreigner speaks in Chinese, and can thus more or less understand them even though their tones may not always be correct. I try my best to make sure the student speaks authentically 100% of the time and with the right tones so all Mandarin speakers can understand right away. I am quite strict, but definitely in a polite way. If you are serious about learning Mandarin quickly and with a firm foundation, I think I am a good choice.
